Villa with garden and gate pillar of the former enclosure Hauptstrasse 18
(map)
1888 (according to building file) representative building typical of the Wilhelminian era, largely in its original condition, high-quality classicist facade decoration, in the tradition of the Dresden Semper-Nicolai School, of architectural importance,

Heritage
status : The villa, which was built in 1888, is characterized by a good design and preservation in the historical inventory. It stands indented from the street in the middle of a larger garden plot. What is striking is the overall elegant appearance of the villa, which results primarily from the stylistic orientation towards the forms of Italian Renaissance architecture and classicism. The two-storey building has a natural stone base. A rich plaster structure is carried out on the facades. The prestigious claim that was once associated with the building is also reflected in the fact that many of the decorative elements on the exterior are made of sandstone. The risalit facing the street with its beautiful pilasters is particularly worth mentioning.
Particularly noteworthy is the preservation of essential elements of the historical interior design. In the entrance area and in the stairwell you will find original wooden parts such as doors with etched glass and banisters as well as two elaborate color versions of the walls and ceilings. The first version of the room probably comes from the time it was built, the second version, which superimposes the first, was probably made around 1910.
The historical significance of Villa Hauptstrasse 18 relates to the city and regional history. Until the middle of the 19th century, linen weaving and cloth making were the main sources of income in Waldheim. With its decline, other branches of industry moved up, especially the wood processing industry, which ranked first in terms of employment. The company Wenige & Dörner (founded in 1870) was one of the most important local businesses. Company owner Bernhard Dörner was the owner of Villa Hauptstrasse 18. The building is a testament to the structural development of the city under the conditions of industrialization. It is a good example of a factory owner's villa, which was one of the typical building tasks of the time. The villa thus embodies a documentary value for the living and representational demands of the class of manufacturers who emerged with industrialization and which now played an important role in the economic life of Waldheim and many other Saxon cities. Based on the building, a reference to social conditions typical of the time can be established (association value).
In addition to the importance of the villa in terms of location, regional and social history, it is of significance for the history of the building. The building reflects the sense of form and style at the time of its creation, it is testimony to the architectural attitude that was characteristic of the time, which is generally referred to as historicism, and illustrates how this was expressed in a characteristic building task - as mentioned above. Accordingly, the villa represents the building culture of the late 19th century.
Monument worthiness:
According to § 2 SächsDSchG, there is a public interest in maintaining the villa at Hauptstrasse 18 in Waldheim. In the local and regional context, the building is one of the most important examples of historic villa construction. In Waldheim itself there are only a few villas of comparable type and quality, so that the documentation value of the building in question in relation to the historical developments and conditions described above is very important. The high degree of originality, which is given right into the interior, is also very important for the justification of the monument status.
Villa :
two-storey building with 5: 4-axis, base polygonal masonry, plastered facade with corner rustics, central projection over three axes with plastering and window walls in sandstone, ground floor with Ionic pilasters, upper floor decorative balustrade and partially fluted Corinthian pilasters, segmented arch roofing with acroteries, main cornice designed as a cornice . 18th century Half-timbered buildings preserved in largely original condition, residential stable house with bakery extension, worth preserving due to its age and the original substance, of architectural and socio-historical importance.

Residential stable house and side building of a large farm, both built around 1800. The residential stable house, which was badly damaged at the time of the new monument registration, has been renovated in recent years to meet the requirements of historical monuments. The representative half-timbered building with a massive ground floor and high hip roof characterizes the townscape. As far as the structural condition allowed, the half-timbering was preserved during the renovation. It is a typical half-timbered construction from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The side building, not yet renovated in 2011, has several construction phases.
It is a two-storey half-timbered building with a jamb, all of the timber connections of the half-timbered structure are tenons. The building is completed by a flat pitched gable roof. As impressive structural evidence of rural building trade, both buildings have a historical value.
Residential stable house : two-storey, ground floor quarry stone masonry, upper storey half-timbered two-bar, crooked hip roof
Side building : two-storey with jamb, upper floor and jamb, half-timbered with St. Andrew's cross, gable roof, building was probably expanded twice, original porphyry walls, renovated after 1999 in accordance with listed buildings.

This historically significant half-timbered house is completed by a saddle roof. The building is one of the older rural half-timbered buildings in this landscape area. The half-timbered construction described is rarely found here in comparison to other landscapes in Saxony, from which the significance of the farmhouse in terms of house and regional history is derived.

Stable house of a former farm, probably built around 1700. Two-storey, ground floor solid and plastered, upper storey half-timbered construction with flattened head struts, Thuringian ladder motif, gable roof with later loft extension, partially enlarged windows and later extension on the gable side. Due to the isolated, free location of the farmhouse, it impressively shapes the landscape. The building is one of the oldest stables in this landscape that has been preserved in its original form. As a result of this, and due to its good original condition, the building gains architectural significance.

Four-sided courtyard with stable house, barn and two side buildings Heiligenborn 5
(map)
re. 1798 A four-sided courtyard with intact half-timbered buildings, a testament to rural life and construction, of architectural significance, is remarkable in its closedness.

Four-sided courtyard that has been preserved closed with residential stable house, pull-out house, side building and barn. The oldest building in the courtyard is likely to be the residential stable house, which was renovated before 2011 in accordance with the requirements of listed buildings. The ground floor of the house is massive and has an arched portal with a keystone, probably from the construction period. The window openings were subsequently changed. The half-timbered construction on the upper floor was preserved in its original form. It is a two-tier construction with tenon wood connections. The building is completed by a steep pitched roof with a new covering.
At about the same time, the opposite side building was built, a two-story large farm building with a solid ground floor and clad half-timbered upper floor, also closed off by a gable roof. The two doors for recovering the harvested crop have been preserved on the upper floor. A garage was installed on the ground floor, a marginal structural change without reducing the monument value.
The barn resembles the side building described in terms of dimensions and construction, but is likely to have been built later than this.
The front end of the courtyard is formed by the youngest building in the courtyard, which was probably built as a moving house in the mid-19th century. This is also a half-timbered building with a solid ground floor and a gable roof. The courtyard area impresses with its size, unity and authenticity. The farm impressively documents the rural building trade of the 19th century as well as the working and living conditions of that time. The great architectural and socio-historical importance of the farm is derived from this.

Residential stable house: two-storey, solid ground floor with arched portal, upper floor half-timbered (clad), gable roof with new covering,
barn probably half-timbered (clad),
side building: on the upper floor half-timbered,
2nd side building: with overmolding on the ground floor, upper floor half-timbered, gable roof.

The originally preserved stable house was built according to the inscription on the keystone of the arched portal in 1827. The ground floor of the building, which is based on a rectangular floor plan, is solid and plastered, the door and window frames have been preserved as well as the stable door and stable window. The striving half-timbered construction on the upper floor was only massively replaced in the area of the gable above the stable. The building is completed by a steep gable roof with an original hay hatch. The barn is also likely to have been built at the same time as the stable house. The half-timbered building, which is impressive due to its authenticity, is also completed by a steep gable roof. The side building, like the stable house, has a massive ground floor, the half-timbered construction of the upper floor still has head braces, which leads to the conclusion that the building was built around 1700 and is therefore the oldest building in the courtyard.
The farm is worthy of monument due to its unity and the authenticity of its residential and farm buildings. It bears witness to the rural building trade of the 18th and 19th centuries as well as the living and working conditions at the time of its creation, from which the building and socio-historical significance is derived. At the same time, as part of a group of well-preserved farms, it also has a significant impact on the townscape.

Residential stable house : solid ground floor, half-timbered upper floor, original stone walls on the ground floor, arched portal with keystone (dating 1827), gable roof
Barn : half-timbered construction
Side building : massive ground floor, upper floor half-timbered with head struts.

1st half of the 19th century largely original half-timbered buildings, document rural construction and way of life, of importance in terms of local history.

Residential stable house and two side buildings of a four-sided courtyard, probably built in the 1st half of the 19th century, part of a group of well-preserved farms that have a significant impact on the village and landscape. The stable house as well as both side buildings were laid out and plastered on the ground floor, the upper floors have half-timbered structures typical of the 19th century, largely preserved in their original form.
The buildings are closed by saddle roofs, the hay hatch in the roof area of the residential stable house has been preserved. All buildings were structurally changed slightly, whereby the original structure and appearance were only marginally affected. This courtyard, like the neighboring courtyards, is a characteristic example of rural building trade as well as the working and living conditions of the early 19th century, from which its building and social history as well as the local and landscape-defining importance is derived.
Stable house : solid ground floor, upper floor half-timbered, gable roof
1st side building : solid ground floor, upper floor half-timbered
2nd side building : ground floor overformed, upper floor half-timbered.

Residential stable house, two side buildings and archway of a former four-sided courtyard Massanei 29
(map)
around 1800 remarkably well-preserved half-timbered building with a character that shapes the landscape.

On the outskirts of the village, isolated former four-sided courtyard with an original stable house, two side buildings and a gate entrance. The buildings were probably erected at the same time at the beginning of the 19th century.
Residential stable house : solid ground floor, upper floor half-timbered, saddle roof, segment arch portal to the stable, stable with Prussian caps and cast-iron columns.
1st side building : solid ground floor, upper floor half-timbered, partly also on the ground floor
2nd side building : solid ground floor, upper floor half-timbered. all buildings are closed by a gable roof. The uniformity of the construction allows the assumption that this courtyard was rebuilt at the beginning of the 19th century. Only rarely do you come across farms that represent a construction phase. As a result of this and the very good original condition of the buildings described, this farm is of great importance in terms of both house and social history. Due to the isolated location and the imposing effect of the structure, the farm has an unmistakable character on the landscape.

Blacksmith shop and house Massanei 40
(map)
re. 1896, around 1800 Originally preserved half-timbered building of local and house history interest.

Former village smithy, built around 1800. Well-proportioned half-timbered building with a solid ground floor and clad half-timbered upper floor, completed by a gable roof with a larger roof overhang on the courtyard side. On the ground floor, the arched portal from the construction period and an older double-winged front door have been preserved. The blacksmith's workshop was located in the place of today's garage; the arched window with folding shutters next to it was the workshop window.
Due to the very good original condition of the building, it gains importance in terms of architectural history and, as a former forge, also in terms of local history.
Solid ground floor, arched portal with keystone, upper floor timber-frame clad, gable roof (roofing felt).

around 1800 Small half-timbered house in good original condition, typical cottage, historically and socially important.

Possibly built in the 18th century. Two-storey half-timbered house with a solid ground floor and clad half-timbering on the upper floor. The window frames on the ground floor were preserved, which are important for the appearance of the house. The half-timbered construction was clad and boarded up so that it is not visible and a more precise estimate of the time it was built is difficult. Since the window openings were presumably only marginally enlarged in the course of the service life of the house, one must assume that the half-timbered construction was largely retained.
The building is completed by a steep gable roof. The gable triangle as well as the gable side of the upper floor were boarded up.
Due to its authenticity, the building becomes a document of rural construction at the time it was built and, at the same time, of the living conditions. The monument value results from the building and socio-historical importance of the house.
Solid ground floor, upper floor half-timbered, gable roof, half-timbered clad. Barn demolished in 2001 or before.

(map)
around 1700 Largely original half-timbered upper floor with old half-timbered construction with a Thuringian ladder motif and head braces of great importance in terms of house history and social history.

Stable house, built at the end of the 17th or beginning of the 18th century. Two-storey half-timbered house with a solid ground floor (subsequently driven under) and half-timbered upper floor, closed by a steep gable roof. Courtyard side with so-called Thuringian ladder , single-bar, flattened head braces. The averted eaves side with wide compartments, single-fret, flattened struts. The frame of an old window opening was also preserved, through which it is impressively evident how little the original light of the rooms and chambers must have been. Even inside the house, valuable structures have been preserved despite certain structural changes. The building is one of the oldest surviving stables in the former Döbeln district. The half-timbered construction described with a Thuringian ladder can only be found sporadically in this house landscape. Due to the old age of the house and the rarity of the half-timbered construction, the building is of great importance in the history of the house. As a testimony to the working and living conditions, not least because of its authenticity, the building also has a socio-historical significance.

Cottage property Massanei 50

Early 19th century Part of the original village structure, largely an original small half-timbered house, of significance in terms of local development.

Small cottage in the village meadow, probably built in the 18th century. The ground floor was presumably heavily driven under afterwards. The appearance of the house is impaired by the windows that are installed later and that are too wide. The half-timbering on the upper floor was largely preserved. It is a single-frame half-timbered construction with struts, which refers to a construction period in the early 18th century. The house is completed by a flat pitched gable roof (roofing felt). At the side there is a single-storey extension with a monopitch roof, which has been supplemented by a further garage extension and is therefore no longer worth a monument.
Due to the loose development in this area of the village, the original village structure of a forest hoof village with large courtyards along the slopes and houses by the stream is clearly visible. In addition to its architectural historical value as a typical cottage from the 18th century, this building is primarily of importance for the history of local development.

Barn, built in 1936. Simple building typical of the time, two-storey. Partly solid on the ground floor, timber-framed boarded upstairs, closure with a flat pitched gable roof with slate covering. The building, including its doors and windows, remained largely unchanged. Only a few barns from this construction period can be found in the landscape, mostly replacement buildings for previous buildings.
This barn is worth a monument due to its rarity and authenticity.

Residential stable house Dorfstrasse 34
(map)
re. 1756 imposing, originally preserved half-timbered building with arched portal of socio-historical and architectural value.

Lt. Designation on the building built in 1756. Imposing stable house, originally part of a farm, which has not been authentically handed down. The stable house has the typical construction method for Saxony in the 18th century with a solid ground floor and clad / slated upper floor framework. The building is completed by a very steep gable roof, which protrudes further on the courtyard side as weather protection. The elevated house entrance is framed by a segment arch portal.
In order to compensate for the difference in height to the courtyard, a staircase made of rubble stones similar to the Heisten was placed in front of the entrance. The good original condition of the building is remarkable. With the exception of the stable door, all window and door openings have been preserved in their original form. As a result, one must assume that the half-timbered construction on the upper floor is intact. Due to the authentic structural condition described, the building becomes an exemplary example of rural construction and living conditions in the 2nd half of the 18th century, from which the building and social historical value of the house is derived.

Stable house (former inn) with annex and small outbuilding (on the street) Neuhausen 9
(map)
1st half of the 19th century Residential stable house typical of the time and landscape, largely in its original condition, presumably an inn for a time, of local significance.

Very old stable house, probably built before 1700. Today with a solid ground floor and plastered half-timbered upper floor, the house is closed by a steep pitched roof, the protruding gable is plastered half-timbered. The small window openings on the upper floor, arranged directly under the eaves, the attic storey projecting slightly on the gable side and the steep roof slope suggest that the building could well have been built in the 17th century. Later a massive extension followed, possibly as a hall extension of an inn. The unusual little building on the street could also have been created in this context. The square plastered building with a tent roof has several possibly clogged door openings, which suggest that this could have been a former toilet house of the restaurant.
The monument value of the house is mainly due to its great historical significance due to its great age and its good original condition. In addition, there is a historical significance due to the presumed function of a village inn.

Transformer house Reinsdorf
(map)
around 1930 as evidence of electrification in rural areas of architectural and regional historical importance.

Transformer tower built around 1930, type construction of the regional energy supplier influenced by the Heimat style. One-storey plastered building built on an approximately square floor plan with a crooked hip roof and large roof turret, door with segmental arch. Both the choice of materials and the choice of roof shapes show the effort to adapt these technical functional buildings to local conditions.
The electrification in rural areas was of great importance not only in the everyday life of the village population, but above all for agriculture. The regional historical significance of this transformer tower is derived from this importance for all areas of life of the rural population. At the same time, these buildings acquire architectural historical significance as structural witnesses to the efforts of the Heimatstil movement towards landscape-related construction.

Church with furnishings, churchyard, churchyard wall and war memorial for those who fell in World War I, as well as 8 soldiers' graves from World War II Reinsdorf
(map)
Core probably 13th century Significant in terms of building history, local history and the appearance of the town.

Kirchhof : The Kirchhof is an annex to the church. It is bordered by a quarry stone wall. The war memorial for those killed in the First World War (blank made of porphyry with an inscription plate) next to the church as well as 8 soldier graves with simple wooden crosses from the Second World War are worth seeing.
The church and the churchyard with the aforementioned memorial parts were inseparable parts of the everyday life of the village population and thus acquire great local historical significance, from which their monument value can be derived.
Church of St. Nicolai : The time of construction of the church is not known. It was probably built in the second half of the 13th century. Remains of a Romanesque building have been preserved. For example, in the east behind the altar there is a Romanesque window that was later bricked up. A small Romanesque window frame was also preserved in the west of the church. The tower foundation was found during the interior renovation. At the same time there is also the stone flower (sun) on the outside wall of the north side above the entrance to the patronage box.
The first major renovation phase, during which all the Gothic windows were created and the entrance was moved to the south side, has not been documented. In 1676 Moritz Friedrich von Milkau had the church rebuilt on Kriebstein, including the surrounding walls of the Romanesque predecessor building. “The second gallery and the patronage box were built in. The ceiling (barrel vault) was also created there. This was designed as a coffered ceiling and painted with gray-blue clouds. The cassettes were 1.20 m × 1.20 m and were separated from one another by decorative strips.
... On June 26, 1825, lightning struck the tower and shattered it, as well as part of the church, without igniting and killed the cantor who was playing at a wedding. After the lightning strike, the tower was built in its current form ... Around 1880/90 the upper gallery was built all around ... ”.
Baroque hall church with remains of the Romanesque predecessor building - plastered quarry stone building with a straight east end, two pointed arched windows on the south side. The building is essentially characterized by a massive Romanesque tower with a rectangular floor plan. The slender helmet dates back to 1825.
The pointed arch portal on the south side was built around 1480. The interior is largely characterized by the surrounding galleries, on the north side it is two-story. Ornamental paintings, which were uncovered in 1930, can be found on the parapets. On the south side there are boxes with the magnificent coat of arms of the von Kriebstein family.
Worth mentioning is the late Gothic winged altar with depictions of Anna Selbdritt and the 14 helpers in need, possibly by the master of the Alexius altar, made around 1520. The pulpit with sound cover was probably built in the first half of the 17th century.
The organ created in 1872/73 by Urban Kreutzbach and sons for the church in Bubendorf was implemented in 1973 and the sound was changed by the organ builder Schmeisser.

Stable house of a former four-sided courtyard, built around 1900. Two-storey rural residential and stable building with a solid ground floor and simple half-timbering typical of the time it was built. The house is closed by a gable roof with slate covering.
The facades show the traditional structure of the farmhouses in Saxony with large rectangular windows on the facing gable and on the left of the entrance door (lounge area). The house is on the courtyard side. Next to the front door there is a large window which illuminates the hallway. The stable door and the associated stable windows are located on the right part of the courtyard side. The half-timbered structure on the upper floor is simple with few struts, the large rectangular windows are arranged regularly. With this design, the stable house built around 1900 follows the centuries-old construction and structure of the rural farmhouse in Saxony. This also applies to the interior of the house, which also shows the usual three-way division of the ground floor into living, hall and stable parts. The room sizes and heights are generous. In the stable we find a Prussian cap vault on double T-beams and cast iron supports. The structure of the upper floor also corresponds to long-established traditions through its three-part division into a living room, a hallway with stairs and a chamber part with a chamber passage. The doors from the time it was built were partially preserved. The relatively large rooms and chambers as well as the ceiling heights are also striking on the upper floor. The roof structure was designed as a collar beam roof with a double-standing chair.
The farmhouse is a traditional, functional rural building which, apart from the Prussian cap vault, has no new forms of construction or design compared to older stable houses. On the one hand, this proves that the farmhouse shape of the stable house had proven itself over centuries with a similar economic method, on the other hand, the construction also illustrates the preservation of traditions typical of the rural regions.
Due to the good original condition, the stable house becomes an impressive example of rural construction, living and economic activity around 1900 and thus gains importance in terms of building history and social history.

House number change from 38 a to 38 according to ALK from 2012 and GIS LFD.
