The natural monument is located in the surrounding forest of the castle hill . The summit is a wooded plateau ( woodruff beech forest ). A branch of the Kasselsteig hiking trail leads through the area. The path ends in the western area of the natural monument. There is an impressive view over Baunatal into the Kassel basin . The summit itself is covered with oak-hornbeam forest (Galio-Carpinetum). In the northern area of the natural monument there are abandoned garden plots that are overgrown. In the southwest, in front of the wooded hilltop, there is a meadow with orchards . A small path leads through the terrain and over the hilltop.
