The church Purification of Mary is a high, gothic in the core construction, which forms the northern wing of the convent. Two two-story tracts have been preserved from the former citizens' hospital. A wing with a core from the 14th century is attached to the south of the chapel. This has bricked-up late Gothic rectangular windows, profiled stone-clad windows and door frames from the 16th century. The outer staircase is opened through rectangular windows. Inside there are rooms with needle cap barrels and groin vaults. From the attic a late Gothic, bricked-up rectangular window can be seen. There are also holes in the beams and a gable impression of a building on the western wall of the chapel. Opposite is a core from the 15th century with an exterior staircase to the west. The rooms are equipped with needle caps and groin vaults. On the ground floor there is access through a shoulder arch portal from the early 15th century, a smoke kitchen with a mighty pyramid fireplace from the 15th / 16th century. The remains of the former city ​​castle are surrounded by a wall on the spur sloping to the west, a kennel and bastion in the south and a moat in the east. From the 11th century to 1566, the fortress was under the administration of margravial ministers and lords of the sovereign, then changed hands frequently and has been privately owned since 1847.

The former city fortification of Eggenburg is an exceptionally well-preserved, medieval fortification belt reinforced by towers with an inner circular wall. The kennels in the east, north-east and south-east, the former moat and the defensive oaks in front of it, and in the north-east, the rectangular Eggenteich, mentioned in a document in 1430, have also been preserved. The facility was first mentioned in documents in 1204 and was later expanded several times. Castle and parish church were included in the 14th century. The cinema, located between the confluent Kremserberggasse and the Museumsgasse, was built in 1917 according to plans by Clemens Holzmeister . The block-like, one to two-story building is covered by a hipped roof. A gabled risalit with a column-framed entrance can be seen on the stepped facade.

The house at Kremserstraße 3 was redesigned in baroque style around 1740 by the then owner, the stonemason and sculptor Franz Leopold Farmacher. It has served as the town hall since 1957. The remarkable baroque facade has a three-axis, gabled central projection between Ionic pilasters, a banded ground floor and in the central axis a basket-arched portal between pilasters placed at a corner and a wedge-shaped mask. The upper risalit windows are gabled and have masks in the lintel. A stonemason's coat of arms is attached in the central axis. Most of the interior is from 1893 and 1928/1929. The upper ballroom has a mirrored ceiling from the mid-20th century.

The town house at Pfarrgasse 4 has a window with profiled frames and straight roofs from the 17th century on the facade and a niche with a Trinity group from the second quarter of the 18th century on the upper floor. At the entrance, a beveled stone arch leads to the barrel-vaulted hallway. The courtyard door is equipped with etched glass windows from the second half of the 19th century. The rear wing, oriented towards Judenplatz, is a gable-independent granary from the 16th century.

The former "Minichhof" of the Zwettl Monastery went to Klosterneuburg Monastery in the middle of the 13th century , then to the Order of St. John, then to the Herzogenburg and Geras Monasteries and in 1534 to the city, which used it as the town hall until the beginning of the 19th century . The complex was rebuilt several times, once around 1883 in late historical forms. On the courtyard side, sgraffito remains from the mid-16th century have been preserved, and on the gate there is a coat of arms of Eggenburg between lions. A walled up Romanesque arched window goes back to the 13th century. Some of the former detention cells are barrel vaulted and secured by 17th century grids.
