List of domesticated cattle
The list of domesticated cattle includes taurine cattle ( Bos taurus ), zebu cattle ( Bos indicus ), their crossbreeds ( taur indicus cattle), other domesticated cattle (e.g. water buffalo ) and cattle that are used like pets (e.g. . Bison ). Same breeds , breeding lines and breed hybrids can appear more than once if they are known by different names.
In the case of breeds in Germany, according to TGRDEU ( Central Documentation of Animal Genetic Resources in Germany ), it is stated whether the breed is native or imported, and in the case of native breeds the degree of endangerment in Germany . Extinct races are marked with (†).
