List of harp concerts

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the Baroque and Classical periods, only a few works were composed for harp and orchestra , which was mainly due to the fact that the instruments of that time still had many technical weaknesses. It was not until Sébastien Érard invented the double pedal mechanism in 1811 that the harp was also appreciated as a solo instrument. In the 20th century it was used as a soloist by a large number of composers.

The list includes concerts with one and more solo harps as well as concerts with various solo instruments. Chamber music works in which the harp is used as a soloist are also listed. However, it does not include arrangements from other concerts unless they were written by the composer himself.
