Tornadoes in Europe

One of the bodies that document events is the European Severe Weather Database , which is operated by the European Severe Storm Laboratory , an organization for the research and recording of severe weather events in Europe.

In Europe, the intensity of tornadoes is classified using the TORRO scale in conjunction with the Fujita scale , which, in addition to the extent of damage to buildings and taking into account the stability of the construction in question, also takes into account the extent of damage to vegetation.

The total number of tornadoes in Europe in 2007 was 361 (as of January 11, 2008). Two tornadoes reached the intensity T7 / F3 , which corresponds to a "strongly destructive tornado" with rotation speeds between 300 and 342 km / h, which occurred on January 18, 2007 in eastern Germany and on July 22, 2007 in northwestern Ukraine.
