London Critics' Circle Film Award / Best British Young Director
The London Critics 'Circle Film Award for the best young British director (originally: The Virgin Atlantic Award - Breakthrough British Film-Maker ) is an award that is presented annually by the London Critics' Circle . From 1993 to 2008 there was the category best British young talent , which was awarded to directors, scriptwriters, actors or producers.
In 2016, the prize was renamed the Philip French Award and has since honored not only directors but also the best new filmmakers in general ( breakthrough British / Irish filmmaker ).
