Make Me Proud is a song by the Canadian rapper Drake and the American singer and rapper Nicki Minaj . In the United States, the song was released on October 16, 2011 as the second single from his second album Take Care . On March 27, 2012, Make Me Proud was awarded a platinum record in the United States for over 1,000,000 units sold. It is the fourth single from Drake's album Take Care that achieved this feat.

On October 20, 2011, Make Me Proud debuted at number 97 on the American Billboard Hot 100 . In its second week, the song became a top ten hit in the United States, reaching number 9. With a jump from number 97-9 on the Billboard Hot 100, Drake Akons set an 88-place jump record with Smack That feat. Eminem , which had been set up five years earlier. Drake's eighth number one hit on the American hip-hop charts in two years. Make Me Proud was Drake's eleventh number one hit on the American rap charts , making Drake the most number one hit ever.
