Marc Lais (born February 4, 1991 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German soccer player . He has been under contract with SSV Jahn Regensburg since August 2015 .
Career
In the club
Lais began his career in the youth of SV Au-Wittnau . In a DFB Talentsichtung he was appointed to the youth selection of the DFB and was there by talent scouts of SC Freiburg sighted. He then switched to the D-youth (U-13) of the Freiburg team and went through all youth teams up to and including the A-youth (U-19), with whom he won the 2009 DFB-Junior-Pokal .
In his last year of youth, Lais was used in the second half of the season in the second team of SC Freiburg in the fourth-class Regionalliga Süd . He made his senior debut on April 27, 2010 when he was substituted on for Simon Brandstetter in the 76th minute of the 2-1 defeat by Stuttgarter Kickers . For the 2010/11 season he moved up firmly in the squad of the second team and became a regular player. On November 28, 2012 he made his debut in the Bundesliga . He was substituted on for Cédric Makiadi in the 82nd minute of his team's 2-0 home defeat against Bayern Munich .
For the 2013/14 season Lais was loaned to the second division club SV Sandhausen for one year . After he hadn't played in the professional squad in the first half of the season, his loan contract with Sandhausen was terminated again during the winter break. Instead, the third division Chemnitzer FC signed him on loan for the second half of the current season. After the season Lais was firmly committed; he signed a contract until June 30, 2016.
For the 2015/16 season , Lais moved to SSV Jahn Regensburg , where he signed a contract that ran until 2017. With Jahn Regensburg he rose from the regional league, first in the 3rd and then in the 2nd division, where he scored one goal each in the return leg of the relegation against 1860 Munich .
National team
Lais played twice for the German U-18 national team between March and April 2009 .
