Mariano , full name Mariano Díaz Mejía (born August 1, 1993 in Barcelona ), is a Spanish - Dominican football player .
Career
society
Mariano started his career at FC Badalona . Badalona he made his debut in August 2011 in the Segunda División B . In the same year he moved to Real Madrid's youth team . In September 2012 he played for the first time for the third team Reals in the third highest Spanish league.
In January 2014 he made his debut for Real Madrid Castilla in the Segunda División . It remained his only game for Castilla in the 2013-14 season. With Real's second team, he had to relegate to Segunda División B that season.
After he had made ten appearances in the 2014/15 season, in which he had scored five goals, he came to 29 games in the following season, in which he scored 25 goals.
For the 2016/17 season he was raised to the professional squad. In August 2016, he was in the Real Madrid squad for the first time against Real Sociedad . He made his debut in the Primera División on the second day of the 2016/17 season against Celta Vigo .
For the 2017/18 season he moved to France to Olympique Lyon .
Mariano returned to Real Madrid in late August 2018. He signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2023.
National team
Mariano initially decided to play for the Dominican Republic . He made his debut in a friendly against Haiti in March 2013 and scored one goal. In order to concentrate on his club career and to keep missions for the Spanish national team open, Mariano subsequently stopped playing for the Dominican Republic.
