Again after just one year, the Edmonton Oilers signed the attacker in the NHL Waiver Draft , with which he won the prestigious Stanley Cup in 1990 .

After five successful years in Edmonton, Lamb was selected in the 1992 NHL Expansion Draft by the Ottawa Senators , for which he was active the following two seasons. During the 1993/94 season , the Canadian was transferred to the Philadelphia Flyers , who gave him to the Montréal Canadiens after only one year . In Montréal Lamb could not prevail, so that the Canadiens at the beginning of the 1995/96 season first loaned him to the Houston Eros from the International Hockey League , which took him under contract after the season as a free agent . In the 1997/98 season Lamb was the first and only time under contract in Europe when he played for EV Landshut in the DEL . After the season, Lamb returned to the Houston Eros, with whom he won the Turner Cup in 1999 and ended his professional ice hockey career a year later.

Following his active career, Lamb first worked in the 2001/02 season as an assistant coach at his ex-club Edmonton Oilers , before he was employed in the same position at the Dallas Stars from 2002 to 2008 .
