Mleczkowo ( German Milchbude ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Ełk ( rural municipality of Lyck ) in the powiat Ełcki ( Lyck district ).
Geographical location
Mleczkowo is located in the east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, six kilometers northwest of the district town of Ełk (Lyck) .
history
Today's forest estate ( Polish Osada leśna ) Mleczkowo was until 1945 the forestry milk Bude and belonged to the state forest Elk in East Prussia. Milchbude was a place to live in the rural community of Szameyten (1928 to 1945 Wittenwalde , Oracze in Polish ) in the Lyck district in the province of East Prussia and had only six inhabitants in 1905.
On November 1, 1928, the neighboring towns of Oratzen , Szameyten , Wittinnen and also Milchbude merged to form the new rural community of Wittenwalde ( Oracze in Polish ).
As a result of the war, Milchbude came to Poland with all of southern East Prussia and now bears the Polish form of the name “Mleczkowo”. Today the small place is incorporated into the Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) Oracze and thus a place in the Gmina Ełk (rural municipality Lyck ) in powiat Ełcki ( Lyck district ), before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .
Religions
Until 1945 Milchbude was parish in the Protestant Church of Stradaunen in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic St. Adalbert Church in Lyck in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today Mleczkowo belongs to the Catholic parish Straduny in the Diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant church members stick to the parish in the district town of Ełk , a branch parish of the parish in Pisz ( German Johannisburg ) in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Mleczkowo can only be reached by land, which branches off at Oracze (Oratzen , 1928 to 1945 Wittenwalde) from the Polish state road 65 (former German Reichsstraße 132 ) or at Siedliska (Schedlisken , 19938 to 1945 Sonnau) from the voivodship road 656 .
