The Club de hockey junior de Montréal ( English Montréal Junior Hockey Club , Montréal Juniors for short) was a Canadian ice hockey franchise from Verdun in the province of Québec . The team was founded in 2005 as St. John's Fog Devils and played in one of the three highest Canadian junior ice hockey leagues , the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . For the 2008/09 season , the team moved to the Arrondissement of Verdun and played there for three years. In the summer of 2011, the team moved to Boisbriand , where it took the name Armada de Blainville-Boisbriand .
Based on the Montreal Maroons , a former National Hockey League franchise , the team colors were white and wine red.
history
The franchise was founded in 2005 as the St. John's Fog Devils founded and played until the end of the 2007/08 season in St. John's in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador . After numerous problems and the sale of the team to a new group of investors, the move of the franchise to Verdun was announced on March 10, 2008 .
At the beginning of the 2008/09 season , the team, renamed Club de hockey junior de Montréal, began playing in the Verdun Auditorium . Pascal Vincent acted as trainer and general manager in one . In Montréal, the team spent a successful sporting period, qualifying for the play-offs in each of the three years . There they reached a maximum of the quarterfinals of the best eight teams in 2009 and 2011.
In June 2011 it was sold again to a group of investors around the former NHL player Joël Bouchard . He moved the team to Boisbriand . There the team plays under the name Armada de Blainville-Boisbriand .
