Mykolaivka

Mykolaivka ( Ukrainian Миколаївка ; Russian Николаевка Nikolajewka ) is an urban-type settlement in the northeast of the Ukrainian Odessa Oblast with around 2800 inhabitants (2014).

Mykolaivka is located on the banks of the Chichyklija , a tributary of the Southern Bug 150 km north of the Odessa oblast center and is the administrative center of the Rajon of the same name . For the same settlement council community include not only the urban-type settlement the villages Druscheljubiwka ( Дружелюбівка ) Peremoha ( Перемога ) Sofijiwka ( Софіївка ) and Stawkowe ( Ставкове ).

Mykolaivka originated in the 18th century, was called Mykolaivka Druha (Миколаївка Дуга) until the 1940s, and received urban-type settlement status in 1965.
