NGC 3082 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Air Pump in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 118 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 2531 and IC 2533 .

The object was discovered by John Herschel on March 30, 1835 .
