NGC 3070 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 235 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3069 , IC 578 , IC 580 , IC 584 .
The object was discovered on March 15, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
