NGC 3070 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 235 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years across.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3069 , IC 578 , IC 580 , IC 584 .

The object was discovered on March 15, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
