NGC 3074 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Leo Minor at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 229 million light years from the Milky Way and about 155,000 light years in diameter.
The supernovae SN 1965N (Type-IIP) and SN 2002cp (Type-Ib / c) were observed here.
The object was discovered on March 28, 1786 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
