NGC 4205 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Draco the northern sky . It is an estimated 68 million light years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light years in diameter. Together with PGC 213955 it forms an optical pair of galaxies and is considered a member of the NGC 4125 group ( LGG 274 ).

In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 4238 .

The object was discovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest on October 4, 1861 .
