NGC 4207 is a spiral-shaped dwarf galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type Scd in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is an estimated 23 million light years from the Milky Way and about 10,000 light years across . It is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under the catalog name VCC 152 .
The galaxies IC 3092 and IC 3097 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on March 23, 1865 by the German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest .
