NGC 5848 = NGC 5841 is a 13.9 likes bright lenticular galaxy of Hubble type S0-a in the constellation Virgo and about 56 million light-years from the Milky Way center.

It was discovered on May 6, 1862 by Heinrich d'Arrest (listed as NGC 5848 ); Albert Marth's observation on April 12, 1864 led to the second entry in the catalog under NGC 5841 .
