NGC 5850 is a 10.8 mag light barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Libra and about 115 million light years from the Milky Way.
It was discovered on February 24, 1786 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "F".
