NGC 892 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sab in the constellation Cetus south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 443 million light years from the solar system and about 80,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxy NGC 878 is located in the same area of the sky .
The property was discovered by Francis Preserved Leavenworth in 1886 .
