NGC 882 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Aries on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 180 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxy IC 1794 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on January 11, 1831 by John Herschel .
