NGC 901 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Aries on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 441 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 50,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 900 , NGC 903 , NGC 904 , NGC 915 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on September 5, 1864 .
