NGC 923 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Andromeda. It is estimated to be 258 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 60,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 911 , NGC 912 , NGC 913 , NGC 914 , among others .
The object was discovered on October 30, 1878 by the French astronomer Édouard Stephan .
