NGC 938 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Aries on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 188 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 90,000 ly.
The galaxy belongs to the NGC 932 group with NGC 924 , NGC 930 , NGC 935 and IC 1801 .
The Type Ia supernova SN 2015ab was observed here.
The object was by astronomer d'Heinrich arrest on December 30, 1863 using a 27.5-cm - telescope discovered.
