NGC 933 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Andromeda in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 234 million light years from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 89,000 ly. Together with IC 1799 and PGC 9186 , it forms the small IC 1799 group ( LGG 57 ). The galaxy NGC 920 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was by astronomer A. Swift Lewis on September 11, 1885 using a 16-inch - telescope discovered.
