NGC 959 is a spiral dwarf galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sd in the constellation Triangle in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 32 million light years from the Milky Way and about 20,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is considered a member of the NGC 1023 group.
In the same area of ​​the sky is the galaxy NGC 952 .

The object was discovered on November 9, 1876 by the astronomer Édouard Jean-Marie Stephan .
