NGC 968 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E4 in the constellation triangle at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 167 million light years from the Milky Way and about 130,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Édouard Stephan on December 5, 1879 .
