NGC 881 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Cetus south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 235 million light years from the Milky Way and approximately 155,000 light years across.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 883 and IC 219 .

The type Iap supernova SN 2011hk was observed here.

The object was discovered on September 10, 1785 by William Herschel .
