Nada Ina Pauer (born November 11, 1986 in Korneuburg ) is an Austrian - German long-distance runner . She starts internationally for Austria, but also takes part in German championships as a dual citizen. Outside of sport, Pauer has a doctorate in law.

Life

As the daughter of the Austrian philosophy professor Herlinde Pauer-Studer and a German, Pauer has two citizenships. She grew up in Vienna, but also spent some time with her parents in Boston (USA) from 1996 to 1998 . There she played soccer in a girls' team, back in Austria she joined the athletics club LCC Vienna . From 2004, Pauer won several Austrian championship titles and other medals in the U20 and U23 age groups over various distances. In February 2006, at the age of 19, she also triumphed in the Austrian State Indoor Championships over 3000 meters in 9: 52.20 minutes for the first time Adult. In the same year she took second place nationally at active level in cross-country as well as over 5000 meters (16: 57.54 min) and 10 kilometers (35:32 min), in her first international assignment at the end of June 2006 she was second. League of the European Cup 2006 in Novi Sad over 3000 meters in 9: 43.45 min also second. In the following year she ran in the best time of 9: 41.28 min at the Austrian State Indoor Championships again to the silver rank and was fourth overall at the German Cross Country Championships 2007 starting out of valuation. After she had not been able to compete for the rest of the year, she stopped running in 2008 due to back problems.

Outside of sport, Pauer passed her Matura with distinction in 2005 and began studying law at the University of Vienna in the same year . After obtaining her Magister iuris at the end of 2008, she continued her studies with intermediate positions in Paris at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (2009–2010) and Chicago at the University of Chicago Law School (2012–2013) , completing her doctorate in Vienna in 2013 with a English-language dissertation on economic unity and group liability under antitrust law ( The Single Economic Entity Doctrine and Corporate Group Responsibility in European Antitrust Law ). She then worked from 2013 to 2016 as a trainee lawyer (legal clerkship) in law firms in Vienna.

After the back problems subsided at the age of 25, Pauer started running again. In July 2012 she took part in the Austrian State Championships for the first time over 5000 meters - now starting for the SVS Athletics Club in Schwechat . Because of the previously not met limit, she started out of classification and finished fourth in 17: 44.37 minutes. In 2013, after her stay in Chicago, she again ran over 5000 meters in second place and came back to her previous bests with annual best times of 9: 38.97 min over 3000 meters and 16: 58.15 min over 5000 meters. While she did not improve her times in 2014 and competed in a few races in 2015, Pauer met the German long-distance runner Richard Ringer in November 2014 at the Warandeloop cross-country run in Tilburg , with whom she has been a couple since New Year 2015. After completing her legal clerkship, she moved to Ringer on Lake Constance in Meersburg in August 2016 and accepted a position as a research assistant ( postdoc ) at the University of Konstanz . At the same time she joined Ringer's club at the time, VfB LC Friedrichshafen , with Birgit and Eckhardt Sperlich's training group. At the state level, Pauer won the indoor championships over 3000 meters in 2016 in the best time of 9: 34.59 minutes and in the cross-country run.

In February 2017, Pauer took part in the German Indoor Championships and ran there with a significantly improved 9: 22.98 min compared to the previous year to rank 8. A month later she was tenth at the German Cross Country Championships 2017 and in June she undercut her previous year's best time of over 5000 Meters (16: 47.66 min) with 16: 10.77 min by more than half a minute. After finishing fourth over this distance at the German Championships in July, Pauer qualified at the end of the year in the Salzburg CrossAttack as second for the European Cross Country Championships held on December 10th in Šamorín , Slovakia , where she finished 58th.

Since 2018, Pauer has been trained by her friend Richard Ringer , who previously separated from his long-time trainer Eckhardt Sperlich. In June she continued her performance development with 15: 40.61 min over 5000 meters at the Soundtrack Meeting in Tübingen , which meant that she missed the qualification standard for the European Championships in Berlin by 61 hundredths of a second. In order to get a minimum number of participants, however, she was invited by the European Association (EAA) to the EM and crossed the finish line in 15: 54.76 minutes on August 12th, initially in 15th place. Later, however, the disqualification followed because of a lane violation in the first hundred meters. She concluded the track season with best times over 1500 meters (4: 19.00 min) and 3000 meters (9: 06.52 min).

At the beginning of 2019, Pauer left VfB LC Friedrichshafen together with the wrestler who was changing to LC Rehlingen and joined LG Telis Finanz Regensburg . During the indoor season she qualified for the European Indoor Championships in 9: 01.87 min at a meeting in Eaubonne, France . At the beginning of March in Glasgow she came in 12th after 9: 06.75 minutes.
