Niederleupten is a district of the municipality Nobitz in Altenburger Land in Thuringia . The place was incorporated in 1926 and is therefore the first district of Nobitz.

geography

The place is in a small valley east of the Pleiße . Neighboring places are Nobitz in the west, Oberleupten in the southwest and Klausa in the south . The Leinawald is to the south and southeast , and Altenburg-Nobitz Airport is to the north. The noise from the airport has largely subsided since the fall of the Wall. The federal highway 180 runs through the village .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in the tithe register of the Bosau monastery as Lipen in 1181. Until 1445, ten courtyards formed a round , and in the following years typical half-timbered houses for the region were built, mostly with a ground floor made of field stones. Until 1778, ducal foresters of the Duchy of Saxony Altenburg lived in the place: This area was called Obteil-Leina.

Niederleupten belonged to the Wettin office of Altenburg , which from the 16th century was under the sovereignty of the following Ernestine duchies due to several divisions during its existence : Duchy of Saxony (1554 to 1572), Duchy of Saxony-Weimar (1572 to 1603), Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg (1603 to 1672), Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg (1672 to 1826). When the Ernestine duchies were reorganized in 1826, the place came back to the duchy of Saxony-Altenburg. After the administrative reform in the duchy, it belonged to the eastern district (until 1900) and to the Altenburg district office (from 1900). From 1918 the village belonged to the Free State of Saxony-Altenburg , which was added to the State of Thuringia in 1920. In 1922 it came to the district of Altenburg .

In 1926, Niedeleupten was incorporated into Nobitz. During the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the existing states were dissolved and the districts were redesigned. Thus Niederleupten came as part of the municipality Nobitz with the district Altenburg to the district of Leipzig , which since 1990 belonged to the district Altenburg Thuringia and opened in 1994 Altenburger in the district of the country. Since the fall of the Wall , a large number of urban residents have settled in Niederleupten due to suburbanization from Altenburg and new jobs at the airport and the building materials combine.

Events

Every two weeks, a poultry exchange or a small animal market as well as a breeder's exhibition take place at the Geflügelhof Kirmse .
