Engertsdorf is a district of Nobitz in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia . Before the merger with the neighboring village of Heiersdorf on July 1, 1950, the place was called Hinteruhlmannsdorf . The municipality of Engertsdorf was incorporated into Ziegelheim on January 1, 1973 , which in turn was incorporated into the Nobitz municipality on July 6, 2018. The former Hinteruhlmannsdorf was the only district of the former municipality of Ziegelheim, which historically always belonged completely to the Thuringian Altenburger Land and not, like the other districts, wholly or partly to Saxony until 1928/1952 .

history

Hinteruhlmannsdorf was first mentioned in a document on March 23, 1254. Hinteruhlmannsdorf belonged to the Wettin office of Altenburg , which from the 16th century was under the sovereignty of the following Ernestine duchies due to several divisions during its existence : Duchy of Saxony (1554 to 1572), Duchy of Saxony-Weimar (1572 to 1603), Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg (1603 to 1672), Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg (1672 to 1826). When the Ernestine duchies were reorganized in 1826, the place came back to the duchy of Saxony-Altenburg. After the administrative reform in the duchy, it belonged to the eastern district (until 1900) and to the Altenburg district office (from 1900). Hinteruhlmannsdorf belonged to the Free State of Saxony-Altenburg from 1918 , which was added to the State of Thuringia in 1920. In 1922 it came to the district of Altenburg . Ecclesiastically, the place belongs to Frohnsdorf .

On July 1, 1950, Hinteruhlmannsdorf and Heiersdorf merged to form the new municipality of Engertsdorf. The name of this community was chosen in honor of the communist resistance fighter Otto Engert , who was born in nearby Prößdorf in 1895 and was executed on January 11, 1945 in Dresden . The district Hinteruhlmannsdorf from then on bore the name Engertsdorf assigned to the community . During the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the existing states were dissolved and the districts were redesigned. Thus, the community Engert village came to the district Altenburg to the district of Leipzig , which since 1990 belonged to the district Altenburg Thuringia and opened in 1994 Altenburger in the district of the country. On January 1, 1973, Engertsdorf was incorporated into Ziegelheim . In 2012, 180 people lived in the district. On July 6, 2018, the municipality of Ziegelheim was incorporated into Nobitz, making Engertsdorf a district of Nobitz.
