Incorporations

On January 1, 1969, the previously independent communities Diepersdorf and Fluttendorf were incorporated into the community of Gosdorf.

history

Gosdorf was first mentioned in 1286 as "Gocztichendorf". The name goes back to the Slavic personal name * Gostĕchъ . The abolition of the manorial lords took place in 1848. The local communities Diepersdorf, Fluttendorf and Gosdorf as autonomous corporations came into being in 1850.

After the end of the First World War, there were disputes with the Ljubljana “National Government for Slovenia and Istria” about the area's territory.

After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the communities became part of the Reichsgau Steiermark. On May 9, 1945, Soviet soldiers moved into the Gosdorf area. From July 1945 to 1955, the communities were part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.
