coat of arms

AUT Paldau COA.png

All previous municipalities had a municipal coat of arms. Due to the amalgamation of municipalities, these lost their official validity on January 1st, 2015. The re-award took place with effect from December 1, 2015.
The new blazon reads:

"A golden bishop's staff placed diagonally on the right is placed on a shield that is divided by red, furrier and black twice on the left."

The municipal coat of arms was first awarded with effect from July 1, 1966. The shield colors are taken from the coat of arms of the Lords of Teuffenbach zu Maierhofen (twice split by red, silver and black) and the Zebinger (split by red and furrier), which the former Were landlords in the municipality. The golden pedum refers to Bishop Ulrich von Seckau (1297–1308), who came from the lineage of the Lords of Paldau. The coat of arms of this sex has not survived, as no seals have been preserved on documents and the seal of Bishop Ulrich only marks the spiritual office.
