history

Inn

Wilchwitz and its neighboring town Kraschwitz form a Slavic village complex, which was first mentioned in 1181 as Bluckwiz and was recorded in 1227. Theodoricus Forestarius de Wilchwitz , an imperial forest ranger, gave her his name. The 14 hectare pond area, which is located in a south-westerly direction from Wilchwitz, was created in 1522 in the pond dig. The forestry in Wilchwitz suggests that Wilchwitz is located in the front part of the Leinawald that it was important for the administration and management of the forest. Today the Thuringian Forestry Office Weida, Altenburg branch, is located here .

The former manor has been documented since 1227. The owner changed very often. The manor was, among other things, property of Prince Duke Johann von Sachsen . The manor was sold to the ducal house in 1594 and thus became a chamber manor . In 1635 it burned down due to a lightning strike and within a year the entire new building was carried out on the edge of the village. When the state and duchy were divided in 1874, the chamber property remained with the latter. It had 43 villages in the Altenburger Land from Guteborn to Thräna . Today the tenant house built in 1900 is home to the ZAL (water supply and wastewater disposal association Altenburger Land).

Wilchwitz belonged to the Wettin office of Altenburg , which from the 16th century onwards was under the sovereignty of the following Ernestine duchies due to several divisions in the course of its existence : Duchy of Saxony (1554 to 1572), Duchy of Saxony-Weimar (1572 to 1603), Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg (1603 to 1672), Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg (1672 to 1826). When the Ernestine duchies were reorganized in 1826, the place came back to the duchy of Saxony-Altenburg. After the administrative reform in the duchy, it belonged to the eastern district (until 1900) and to the Altenburg district office (from 1900). From 1918 the village belonged to the Free State of Saxony-Altenburg , which was added to the State of Thuringia in 1920. In 1922 it came to the district of Altenburg . On October 1, 1922, Kraschwitz was incorporated into Wilchwitz. During the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the existing states were dissolved and the districts were redesigned. Thus, the community Wilchwitz came with the district Altenburg to the district of Leipzig , which since 1990 belonged to the district Altenburg Thuringia and opened in 1994 Altenburger in the district of the country.

With the incorporation of the Wilchwitz community into the Nobitz community, Wilchwitz and Kraschwitz became districts of Nobitz on May 6, 1993. From 1996 to 1998 the place was part of the village renewal program . The ZAL - Zweckverband Wasserver- und Abwasserentsorgung Altenburger Land , founded on December 16, 1993, is located in the village . It emerged from the former VEB WAB Leipzig - Altenburg supply area .

traffic

Wilchwitz had a stop on the Leipzig – Hof railway line , which was also served by trains on the Altenburg – Langenleuba – Oberhain railway, which was closed in 1999 . Today the station is only a block post .

Southwest of the location opens the national road 180 in the Federal Highway 93 a.
