Brazil took part in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo with a delegation of 61 athletes (60 men and 1 woman) in 17 competitions in eleven sports.

The Brazilian basketball players won bronze, the only medal for their country at the games. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the basketball player Wlamir Marques .
