The Olympic victory of the Australian short tracker Steven Bradbury was one of the strangest in Olympic history. Bradbury only managed to qualify for the semi-finals and finals because other athletes fell on the last corner. In the final, Bradbury was way behind on the last lap; But since another athlete fell in the last corner and pulled everyone except Bradbury away, he was able to cross the finish line unhindered.
