Onzo (in Ligurian : Unsu ) is an Italian commune with 216 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Liguria region . Politically it belongs to the province of Savona .

geography

Onzo is located in the upper section of the Valle Arroscia at about 400 meters above sea level on the southern slope of Monte Peso Grande (1092 meters). The associated settlement of Capitolo , however, is located on a ridge between the valleys of the Rio Cornareo and Paraone . The municipality belongs to the Comunità Montana Ingauna and is about 64 kilometers from the provincial capital Savona and about 20 kilometers from Albenga .

According to the Italian classification for seismic activity , the municipality was assigned to zone 3. This means that Onzo is in a seismically less active zone.
