Zuccarello (in Ligurian : Sucarê ) is an Italian municipality with 296 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Savona in Liguria and is a member of the association I borghi più belli d'Italia (The most beautiful places in Italy).

geography

Zuccarello is located in the valley of the Neva River , above the confluence of the river with the Pennavaira River . The municipality belongs to the Comunità Montana Ingauna and is about 56 kilometers from the provincial capital Savona .

According to the Italian classification for seismic activity , the municipality was assigned to zone 3. This means that Zuccarello is in a seismically inactive zone.

Description: In blue three white raised wedges in wrong order ; A silver turreted wall crown over the shield and an olive and an oak branch tied with a ribbon in the Italian national colors at the base of the shield .

Attractions

The remains of the fortress built in the middle of the 13th century by the Marquis of Clavesana stand above the place . The campanile of the parish church is still Romanesque , while the church itself today has a baroque appearance after being rebuilt several times . A medieval bridge crosses the Neva.
