Bormida (in Ligurian : Bórmia ) is an Italian municipality with 357 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Liguria region . Politically it belongs to the province of Savona .

geography

Bormida is surrounded by the mountain peaks of the Settepani (1386 meters) and the Ronco di Maglio (1108 meters) in the Val Bormida . The municipality belongs to the Comunità Montana Alta Val Bormida and is located with its territory at an altitude between 420 and 1386 meters. It is about 31 kilometers away from the provincial capital Savona .

According to the Italian classification for seismic activity , the municipality was assigned to zone 4. This means that Bormida is in a seismically inert zone.
