The Open Air Pförring is a two-day free music festival that has existed since 1990 at the Baggersee in Pförring . The formerly small festival now has between 10,000 and 15,000 visitors. It is organized by the association Die Lustigen Kumpels eV .
history
The Die Lustigen Kumpels association was founded in 1984 and initially consisted of 16 friends. The festival was held for the first time five years later, at that time as an internal festival with live music. Already at this point around 200 guests came. In its more than 25-year history, the festival has grown steadily and today has a visitor base of 10,000 to 15,000 music fans who gather on the grounds around the quarry pond. Tents are made available on a neighboring meadow. Musically, one tries to serve as many genres as possible. The festival relies on well-known headliners as well as regional bands. The attendance record was set at the festival for the first time in 2005, when 15,000 visitors attended the festival. The open air is free. Admission was only required on one day in 2015 because the costs of the festival had increased. However, this was not accepted by the visitors, who voted against the entrance fees.
