Dietmar Munier
Dietmar Munier (born February 7, 1954 in Hanover ) is a German publisher of right-wing extremist and historical revisionist literature.
Life
In 1969 Munier joined the Community of Young East Prussia (GJO), the youth organization of the East Prussian Landsmannschaft . In 1971 he joined the Young National Democrats (JN), the youth organization of the National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD), without becoming a member of this party. There he was district chairman in the Grafschaft Bentheim district (Lower Saxony) and deputy state chairman in Schleswig-Holstein. At the end of the 1970s, he held leading positions at the Bund Heimattreuer Jugend (BHJ), a right-wing extremist youth organization.
Dietmar Munier is married to Gerlind Munier (born October 1, 1969 as Gerlind Mörig). She is co-owner and managing director of the publishing complex.
Commitment to the settlement of Russian Germans in the Kaliningrad region
In 1991 Munier founded Aktion Deutsches Königsberg and in 1992 the Russian-German cultural association Trakehnen in Jasnaja Poljana (formerly Trakehnen) , which in 1993 became part of the School Association for the Promotion of Russian Germans in East Prussia. V. with headquarters in Husum was transferred. The aim of these clubs and associations, as well as the Gesellschaft für Siedlungsförderung in Trakehnen mbH (GST) founded in 1993, is to acquire houses and land in what was once East Prussia for a “German repopulation” of the former German eastern areas, so as to “acquire new ones through the settlement of Russian Germans in Northeast Prussia To create facts for a German perspective of our Eastern Province ”.
According to the GST, since 1993 it has been building two villages for Russian Germans in Jasnaja Poljana and Szirgupönen (1938 to 1946: Amtshagen, from 1946: Dalneje, no longer existing today). The school association runs a school there, in which the children learn not only German, but also National Socialist ideas. There taught among others:
- Richard Edmonds, founding member of the far-right British National Party (BNP)
- Herbert Fritz, author at the national newspaper and speaker of the National Socialist Working Group for Democratic Politics (AfP)
- Götz Eberbach, advisor to the mutual aid community for soldiers of the former Waffen-SS (HIAG)
From the Russian side, Munier's activities are rated rather critically, in 1996 the Russian authorities issued an entry ban against Munier.
Publishing activity
In 1973 Munier founded a bookstore called "Nordwind" in Kiel. During his military service he sublet the business premises to the Holocaust denier and publisher Thies Christophersen , but terminated this contract after a few months due to differences in the content of the range and has since been operating under the name "Sturmwind" bookstore. With changing addresses due to repeated layoffs, he ran bookshops in Kiel under the names “Rathaus-Buchhandlung” and “Buchhandlung am Dreiecksplatz” until 1993. Today Dietmar Munier is the managing director and co-owner oflesen & Schenken Verlagsausendung und Versandgesellschaft mbH , based in Martensrade in Schleswig-Holstein , to which the publishers ARNDT , Orion-Heimreiter, Bonus and Pour le Mérite belong, among others . The publishing group publishes around 50 books, calendars, posters, CDs and DVDs every year.
The Arndt Verlag with affiliated branches is one of the best-known publishers in the right-wing extremist spectrum, according to the Schleswig-Holstein constitutional protection authority and the federal government. In the Office for the Protection of the Constitution 2000 it was stated that Munier "has held a firm place in right-wing extremist publishing for decades".
The thematic focus of the publications is on contemporary history and politics. The works published or distributed here include historical revisionist writings such as those by Günter Deckert , Franz W. Seidler , Viktor Suworow , James Bacque , David Irving , xenophobic pamphlets by Carl-Friedrich Berg as well as pseudoscientific works by Helmut Schrätze and reprints of relevant writings the time of National Socialism like that of the poet Erwin Guido Kolbenheyer . The Pour le Mérite publishing house, based in Martensrade in Schleswig-Holstein, publishes works such as Franz W. Seidler's crimes against the Wehrmacht. War atrocities of the Red Army in 1941/42 and other historical revisionist writings in which the German war guilt and war crimes of the Wehrmacht are denied. Revanchist writings as well as books on flight and expulsion from East Prussia, Pomerania, Silesia and the Sudetenland also take up a lot of space . The authors are among others Heinz Schön , Hugo Wellems , Bolko Frhr. from Richthofen . Political books deal with topics such as “cultural decline”, “ foreign infiltration ” and “denationalization” and come from the pen of Gustav Sichelschmidt , Dietrich Schuler and Paul Stahlhofen , among others .
In 1996 a book with the title “Documents of Polish Cruelties” was published by Arndt-Verlag. B. in " The Silesian " , was advertised. The ad text says: “This documentation from official sources (at the request of the Foreign Office: 'Reprint from 1940') proves the boundless tortures that Germans were subjected to under Polish violence between 1919 and 1939, be it in Poznan and West Prussia , in Upper Silesia or Central Poland. The most appalling excesses, however, took place in August / September 1939 and went down in history as ' Bromberger Blutsonntag '. "The subtitle of the book was:" Published on behalf of the Foreign Office on the basis of documentary evidence ". In the opinion of the Foreign Office, this gave the impression that the editor of the document collection was the current Foreign Office under the then Federal Minister Klaus Kinkel . A lawsuit initiated by the Foreign Office against the Arndt-Verlag for failure to mention the subtitle won the office, and it lost another, in which it claimed the copyrights for the text of the book.
The Orion Heimreiter publishing house was founded in late 1983 by Munier. He took over some title rights from the publisher of the same name, which had died out and was founded in the 1950s and headed by the Sudeten German writer and Nazi functionary Ernst Frank .
In 2003 the publisher took over the " German Military Magazine " (DMZ), which had existed since 1995 . At first glance, this is primarily concerned with military units, current developments in defense technology and the Second World War. It does not contain any clearly recognizable right-wing extremist agitation , but spreads downplaying articles about the German armed forces of the Second World War. As a result, it does not automatically deter readers with a democratic mindset and is also distributed among people with a military background who are not right-wing extremists. For many years the DMZ's editor-in-chief was the former author of Junge Freiheit, Manuel Ochsenreiter . Since this from March 2011 editor-in-chief of Dietmar Munier's monthly magazine First! According to the DMZ, Guido Kraus replaced him as editor-in-chief of the DMZ. Ochsenreiter remains editor of the magazine. The DMZ Zeitgeschichte offshoot has existed since mid-2012 .
In 2009 Munier bought the monthly magazine Nation und Europa , which had existed since 1951 and was not available at kiosks. Since 1990 it has been called Nation Europa . He used the subscriber base to launch the new monthly magazine First! , which has been available monthly at kiosks since December 18, 2009. After Günther Deschner initially acted as editor-in-chief, Manuel Ochsenreiter has taken on this task since March 2011. The magazine dispenses with openly right-wing extremist agitation and instead addresses former N&E recipients and at the same time conservatives who no longer see themselves represented by the CDU / CSU with moderate agitation.
After the death of Hans Joachim Ilgner , the last publisher of the weekly newspaper Der Schlesier , which had been published since 1948, Munier's Reading & Schenken-Verlag took over, expanded it and, since March 2011, has also appeared at kiosks in a new layout. There is also now a Facebook page .
In January 2013, the publisher failed with a lawsuit before the Federal Court of Justice against the termination of its current account by Commerzbank .
In June 2013, the Schleswig-Holstein Administrative Court decided in an urgent procedure that Reading & Gifting may temporarily no longer be named as a "suspected case" in the Schleswig-Holstein Constitutional Protection Report of 2012.
The volunteer , the bimonthly magazine for Waffen-SS members, went up in 2014 in the bimonthly Munier magazine DMZ Zeitgeschichte .
