Oskar Ernst Friedrich Heinrich Wunderlich (born September 3, 1846 in Ehrenbreitstein , † October 16, 1914 in Lübeck ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

He was the son of the consistorial president of the same name Oscar Wunderlich and his wife Christine, née Viereck.

After graduating from high school, on April 1, 1866, Wunderlich joined the Leib Grenadier Regiment (1st Brandenburg) No. 8 of the Prussian Army in Frankfurt (Oder) as a three-year-old volunteer . As such, he took part in the battles at Gitschin and Königgrätz during the war against Austria in the same year and was promoted to second lieutenant on October 13, 1866 . He was also used with the regiment in the war against France in 1870/71 . Here he took part in the siege of Metz and the battles at Beaune-la-Rolande , Orléans and Le Mans . Wunderlich received the Iron Cross 2nd class for his achievements .

During the war he was for on 4 December 1870 aide of Fusilier - Battalion appointed. In this position, promoted to Prime Lieutenant on June 9, 1874 , Wunderlich graduated from the War Academy in Berlin for three years from October 1, 1874 . He spent his old age in Lübeck. He was a member of the Association of Inactive Officers in Lübeck and the Society for the Promotion of Charitable Activities . Around noon on October 16, 1914, he was on a walk near the castle gate when he was hit . A doctor who was summoned quickly could only determine that he was dead.

At that time his three sons were already in the field as lieutenants .
