Pessotschnoje ( Russian Песочное , German Galli tablets and Palpasch ) is the common name of two originally independent places Russian Kaliningrad Oblast (region Königsberg (Prussia) ) within the Gvardeyskoye selskoje posselenije (Town Gvardeyskoye (Mulhouse) ) in Bagrationovsky District (Kreis Preußisch Eylau ) .

Geographical location

Pessochnoye is located northeast of the Rajons capital Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau) and can be reached via Nadeschdino (Lampasch) and from there on a very impassable road via Dubki (Neucken) . There is no train connection.

history

Today's Pessochnoje combines two formerly independent places that were separated by a district border until 1945: if Gallitten belonged to the Friedland district (East Pr.), Which was renamed the Bartenstein district from 1927 , Palpasch was then assigned to the Preussisch Eylau district . Today both are united in the Bagrationowsk Rajon (Prussian Eylau) .

Pessochnoje / Gallitten (until 1945)

place

The former Gallitten is still a widely scattered place and is eight kilometers away from Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau) . It was 16 and 25 kilometers to the former district towns of Prawdinsk (Friedland) and Bartenstein (now Polish: Bartoszyce). Between 1874 and 1929 Gallitten was incorporated into the Galben district (Russian: Wischnjaki, no longer existent) in the Bartenstein district (Eastern Prussia) (until 1927 Friedland district) in the Königsberg district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 45 residents were registered here. In 1911, Gallitten expanded by parts of Galben, which were reclassified here.

In 1929, Gallitten became the eponymous place for the district of Gallitten, renaming the district of Galben. At that time and until 1945, the two communities Gallitten and Genditten (Russian: Kusnetschnoje, now: Berjosowka) were assigned. In 1933 the population of Gallitten was 290, in 1939 it was 275. The district of Guwonen (Russian: Ryazanskoje, no longer exists) belonged to Gallitten.

As a result of the Second World War , Gallitten came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia . In 1946 the place was given the Russian name " Pessochnoye ".

church

Before 1945, the majority of the inhabitants of Gallitten were of the Protestant denomination. The village was in the parish of Domnau (today in Russian: Domnowo) and was in the church district Friedland (today in Russian: Prawdinsk), from 1927 Bartenstein (today in Polish: Bartoszyce), within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Hans Hermann Engel .

Pessochnoye / Palpasch (until 1945)

place

The former Vorwerk Palpasch is seven kilometers from Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau) - the old and present district town. Together with the villages of Ellermühle and Rappeln (Russian: Rakitnoje, no longer existent), Palpasch was a district of Neucken until 1945 (today Russian: Dubki) and thus belonged to the Loschen district (Russian: Lawrowo, no longer existent) in the Prussian Eylau district in the administrative district Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

When northern East Prussia became part of the Soviet Union in 1945 , Palpasch was also affected. In 1946 it was given the Russian name " Pessochnoye ".

church

In Palpasch, too, the population was predominantly Protestant before 1945 . The small village belonged to the parish Schmoditten (today Russian: Rjabinowka) in the church district Preussisch Eylau (Bagrationowsk) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Max Kuehnert .

Pessochnoye (from 1946)

place

The place Pessochnoje, united from the two former localities, was incorporated into the Nadeschdinski soviet (Dorfsovjet Nadeschdino (Lampasch) ) until 2009 . Since then, after structural and administrative reform, the place has been qualified as a “settlement” (Russian: possjolok) within the Gwardeiskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Gwardeiskoje (Mühlhausen) ) in the Bagrationovsk district .

church

During the time of the Soviet Union , church life came to a standstill due to government regulations. It was not until the 1990s that Protestant parishes formed again in the Kaliningrad Oblast , of which the one in Domnowo (Domnau) and the village parish in Gwardeiskoje (Mühlhausen) are the closest. Both are branches of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
