history

The former Althof belonged before 1945 to the district Preußisch Eylau in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia . Until 1928 it belonged to the Henriettenhof district and then formed a separate Althof district together with the Schmoditten community (now Rjabinowka in Russian) until 1945.

In 1910 there were 534 residents registered in Althof. Their number was 533 in 1933 and was still 516 in 1939.

After 1945 the place with the Russian name Orechowo was incorporated into the Bagrationovsk Rajon in the Kaliningrad Oblast and the seat of a village soviet. From 2008 to 2016 the place belonged to the rural community Gwardeiskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Bagrationovsk.

Orechowski selski Sowet / okrug 1947–2008

The village soviet Orechowski selski sovet (ru. Ореховский сельский Совет) was established in June 1947. The administrative seat of the village soviet was initially the place Orechowo. Before 1975 the place Ryabinowka was the new administrative seat of this village soviet, whereby Orechowo remained the namesake. After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the administrative unit existed as the village district Orechowski selski okrug (ru. Ореховский сельский округ). In 2008, as part of local self-government, the remaining nine places in the village district were divided between the two newly formed rural communities Dolgorukowskoje selskoje posselenije and Gwardeiskoje selskoje posselenije .
