Dolgorukowo ( Russian Долгоруково , German Domtau , Leißen in the district of Prussian Eylau , Pompicken and Stablack ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad in the Bagrationovsk district . It belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Bagrationovsk district .

Geographical location

Dolgorukowo is located west of the Pasmar river (Russian: Maiskaja) on the eastern edge of the Stablack , northwest of the Russian capital of the Rajons and former German district town of Bagrationovsk (Prussian Eylau) . The place can be reached via a side road that connects Bagrationovsk (10 km) with Slavskoje ( Kreuzburg , 18 km). Until 1945 the village, then called Stablack , was a train station on the railway line from Heiligenbeil (today Russian: Mamonowo) via Zinten (Kornewo) to Preussisch Eylau (Bagrationowsk), of which only the last section is still in operation for military traffic today.

history

Dolgorukowo / Domtau (until 1945)

place

The place formerly called Domtau is located eight kilometers northwest of Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau) and south of the side road that connects Bagrationowsk with Slawskoje (Kreuzburg) . In 1874 Domtau came to the newly formed District (Russian: Jelanowka) Wackern in district Preußisch Eylau in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910, 91 residents were registered in Domtau.

On September 30, 1928, the rural community of Domtau gave up its independence and merged with Schlauthienen (today in Russian: Tschapajewo) and the manor districts of Grundfeld (Russian: Tschapajewo) and Jerlauken (Petrowskoje, since 1993 also: Tschapajewo) to form the new rural community of Schlauthienen.

church

Before 1945, Domtau's population was predominantly Protestant . Until 1937 the village was in the parish of Klein Dexen (Russian: Furmanowo), from 1938 to 1945 in the newly built parish of Stablack and belonged to the parish of Preussisch Eylau (Bagrationowsk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Dolgorukowo / Leißen (until 1945)

place

The Vorwerk, formerly known as Leißen , is nine kilometers northwest of Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau) and was a district of Graventhien (Russian: Kamyschewo, since 1993: Awgustowka) until 1945 . As a result, it belonged to the district of Dexen (today in Russian: Nagornoje) since 1874 and came to the district of Wogau (today in Russian: Lermontowo) in 1930 , both times in the district of Preussisch Eylau in the Königsberg district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .

church

Before 1945 the population of Leissen belonged almost without exception to the Evangelical Church and was parish in the parish of Klein Dexen (Russian: Furmanowo) until 1937 . After its dissolution, until 1945, Leißen became a place in the parish of Stablack, which, like Klein Dexen, belonged to the church district of Preussisch Eylau in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Dolgorukowo / Pompicken (until 1945)

place

The village once called Pompicken is ten kilometers northwest of Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau) . In 1874 there were (Russian: Jelanowka) for the newly formed District Wackern in district Preußisch Eylau in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 there were 76 inhabitants in Pompicken.

On September 30, 1928, the rural community of Pompicken expanded when the Waldkeim manor (Dolgorukowo) was incorporated into Pompicken from the Wogau district (now in Russian: Lermontowo). The population was 239 in 1933 and 222 in 1939.

church

Before 1945, Pompicken's population was mostly of Protestant denomination. The village was part of the parish of Klein Dexen (Russian: Furmanowo) until 1937 , but in 1938 it came to the parish of Stablack. Both parishes belonged to the church district Preußisch Eylau (Bagrationowsk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Dolgorukowo / Stablack (until 1945)

Garden city Stablack

The name of the place Stablack is derived from the landscape Stablack , a wooded part of the country between the middle course of the Alle (today Russian: Lawa) and the lower course of the Passarge (today Polish: Pasłęka) and its tributaries Drewenz (Russian: Drwenza, Polish: Drwęca ) and Frisching (Russian: Prochladnaja). As part of the new development of the Stablack military training area , a settlement was established between the rivers Liebe and Rgoßel and nine kilometers northwest of Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau) on the areas of the village of Domtau and the Grundfeld (Russian: Tschapajewo) and Waldkeim (Dolgorukowo) estates from autumn 1935 . which - because of its houses with gardens - was called the garden city Stablack and also had a newly built church. It belonged to the district of Preußisch Eylau in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . The planned planning had not yet been fully implemented at the beginning of the war. After all, in 1939 the town already had 2,734 inhabitants, mostly military personnel.

Stablack district

As early as 1874, an administrative district called Stablack was established in the district of Preußisch Eylau in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . It included the Prussian Eylau estate, Forst with the forest districts Stablack and Wilhelmshöhe. Both forest districts were reclassified in 1928 into the rural community of Klein Dexen (Russian: Furmanowo) in the Dexen district (Russian: Nagornoje) and the Stablack district was dissolved.

On January 1, 1939, the Stablack manor district was newly formed from various parts in the surrounding districts and a new Stablack district was established, which existed until 1945. On July 10, 1940, the Stablack manor was converted into a "community estate estate district".

church

Church building

In 1937, as part of the new development of the garden town of Stablack, a church was built, the furnishings of which came from the church in Klein Dexen (Russian: Furmanowo). The Klein Dexener Church could no longer be used because of the construction of the Stablack military training area. The Stablacker church was only insignificantly damaged in the Second World War .

Parish

Until 1938 Stablack was still parish in the parish of Klein Dexen. Then the parish seat was moved from Klein Dexen to Stablack, and the 32 parish towns found their new center here. The parish Stablack belonged to the church district Preußisch Eylau (today Russian: Bagrationowsk) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Pastor

Between 1938 and 1945 the two pastors Franz Kolaß (1938–1943) and Arnold Schrenk (1943–1945) officiated in the garden city of Stablack .

Stalag IA stick paint

A few weeks after the start of the war in September 1939, the Wehrmacht set up a barrack camp for prisoners of war , the Stalag (main camp IA), southeast of Stablack . It was in the military district I . Initially, Polish prisoners in particular were taken in here, and later other prisoners. In 1945, numerous German women and men were also interned here.

On January 22, 1944, a scheduled train with around 1,000 Belgian prisoners of war drove from Stablack to Antwerp . It came to a halt in the Isenbüttel-Gifhorn station on the Lehrter Bahn . Immediately afterwards, a freight train hit the train without braking. 122 people, mostly Belgians, were killed and around 80 were seriously injured.

In 1874 the Gutsbezirk forest germ came into the District Wogau in the district of Prussian Eylau in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 the place had 110 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928 Waldkeim lost its independence and was incorporated into the rural community of Pompicken (Dolgorukowo). As a result, it came from the Wogau district to the Wackern district (Russian: Jelanowka).

Since before 1967 the place was the administrative seat of the village soviet or village district Tschapajewski selski Sowet (okrug) . In 1997 the former German town of Waldkeim was spun off from Dolgurokowo as Walki . church

Church building

The only church in Dolgorukovo is the church built in 1937 in the garden city of Stablack. It survived the war with only minor damage. But it was cleared out after 1945 and the interior fittings from the Klein Dexener church were lost. The building was repurposed and initially served as a horse stable , then it was used as a cinema . After being used as a clubhouse, the former church is now a cultural center . The tower was torn down to the roof ridge height.

Parish

During the time of the Soviet Union , church life was next to impossible. It was not until the 1990s that Protestant parishes emerged again in the Kaliningrad Oblast , whose Dolgorukowo is closest to that in Gwardeiskoje (Mühlhausen) . It is a subsidiary of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).

The nearest church of the Russian Orthodox Church is in Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau) .
