Peter Schyrba ( [ˈpeːtɐ ʃɪʁ.ba] ; born October 17, 1980 in Ozimek , Poland ) is a former German football player who was used in both internal and external defense.

Career

Youth in the Rhineland

Schyrba was born to parents of German origin in Ozimek, Upper Silesia , but the family moved to Germany just four months after his birth, where they initially settled in Cologne . In the following, however, Schyrba grew up in the Ruhr area , so that he began his football career in the youth teams of the Essen ETB black and white and the Mülheim clubs "TuS Union" and 1. FC Mülheim . In 1996 Schyrba came to the Meidericher Spielverein from Duisburg , for which he played three years in the B and A youth .

Starts at MSV Duisburg

As an A-youth, Schyrba was also involved in the Duisburg men's teams' game operations, so that in 1998/99 he had already played for the MSV second representative in the Lower Rhine League. In spring 1999 he was even appointed to the squad of the first Duisburg team that played in the Bundesliga in the 1998/99 season . In this Schyrba came only to one use when he was substituted on the 26th matchday by coach Friedhelm Funkel in the final phase of the game against Hertha BSC .

For the following season 1999/2000 Schyrba then moved up to the men's teams according to his age, but did not play for the Bundesliga team during the entire season, which tried to avert the threatened relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga first under Funkel, then under Seppo Eichkorn . Ultimately, however, the MSV rose from bottom of the table in the second division. But even in this Schyrba was then initially not recommended for missions, so that he continued to run exclusively for the second representation in the league. At the end of the 2000/01 season , in which Duisburg only found himself in the middle of the final table, Schyrba then came to four missions, in which he had been appointed by Eichkorn in the starting line-up. For the 2001/02 season , however, Pierre Littbarski took over the coaching position of the MSV, whereupon Schyrba found himself again in the reservist role and denied no further use for Duisburg during the first half of the season.

Regular player at Prussia Münster

In early December 2001, Schyrba moved to the Preußen Münster , who played in the north season of the third-class regional league against relegation to the upper league. For the club from Münster , initially coached by Stefan Grädler, then by Neale Marmon , Schyrba came to a total of eleven missions during the 2001/02 regional league season , in which he also scored two goals and thus contributed to relegation.

Subsequently, Schyrba developed into a top performer in the Münster team, which was still threatened with relegation, so that he played in 33 regional league games in 2002/03 and in another 30 regional league games in 2003/04 , which was not changed by the interim coaching changes to Peter Vollmann and later to Hans-Werner Moors . In the 2004/05 season Schyrba was then also the captain of his team and completed another 32 regional league appearances. In the 2005/06 season , in which Schyrba completed another 35 games, Münster rose under coach Colin Bell and finally Moors again in the Oberliga Westfalen . After 141 completed league games for Munster, Schyrba then left the club.

Shyrba in Greece

Schyrba, interested in an engagement abroad, subsequently applied for a trial training session with the Greek second division club Panserraikos , as a result of which he finally moved to Serres . There he completed a total of 29 missions in the service of the second division side during the 2006/07 season, who as 15th in the final table only narrowly escaped relegation to the third division.

Return to Germany near Holstein Kiel

In the summer of 2007, Schyrba returned to Germany after just one year in Greece, where he signed a three-year contract with the fourth division Holstein Kiel . In Kiel , Schyrba met again on coach Peter Vollmann, under whom he had already played in Münster. With two goals in 32 missions during the 2007/08 league season , Schyrba was one of the regulars of the team that had been relegated from the regional league the previous year and which immediately rose again as champions of the league. Due to the introduction of the 3rd division in summer 2008, however, the regional division was only fourth class. In the following season, Kiel succeeded in winning the championship of their season in the regional league, which meant promotion to the third division. To achieve this, the club had also replaced the promotion coach Vollmann with Falko Götz , but that did not change the fact that Schyrba, who had meanwhile also been the captain of SV Holstein, was one of the team's top performers with a total of 33 season appearances.

In the third division season 2009/10 Holstein could not build on the successes of previous years and played a weak season, which ended despite the renewed change of coach to Christian Wück on the penultimate place in the table. Schyrba also fell short of expectations and had only completed 25 missions, whereupon he no longer extended his contract, which was running out at the end of the season.

Schyrba at Hansa Rostock

Schyrba found a new employer in Hansa Rostock , who had recently been relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga to the 3rd league and has now signed a two-year contract with him. In Rostock Schyrba met coach Peter Vollmann for the third time as well as Robert Müller , with whom he had already played in Kiel. Then Schyrba developed into a regular player in Rostock during the 2010/11 season , who was used in 36 of 38 league games, scoring two goals and thus contributed to the direct resurgence of FC Hansa. As a result of the promotion, Schyrba's contract was automatically extended for another year until 2013. In addition, Schyrba won the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Cup with Hansa this season , to which he himself had contributed with two appearances.

At the beginning of the second division season 2011/12 Schyrba was able to maintain his regular place in the Rostock team, so that he was initially in the starting line-up in 15 of the 17 first round games. Before the start of the first half of the season, the club , which was in danger of relegation, replaced coach Vollmann with Wolfgang Wolf , which meant that Schyrba should finally lose his regular place. Because for the position of the right-back Wolf initially relied on Robert Müller and after the winter break finally on the newly signed Marek Janečka , so that Schyrba only completed a single mission in the second half of the season. At the end of the season Rostock was relegated to the third division, which meant that Schyrba's contract with Hansa lost its validity. Schyrba did not subsequently receive a new contract offer from Hansa.

After his football career

Peter Schyrba now works as a team leader of the inspection service of the DB Regio NRW .
