history

Until the formation of the unified community Petersberg on January 1, 2010, there was a small community Petersberg with 685 inhabitants (2008), which was a member of the Götschetal-Petersberg administrative community . The administrative community also dissolved on January 1, 2010.

The first mayor of the unified parish was elected on April 25, 2010. In the first ballot, Ulli Leipnitz achieved an absolute majority. On March 12, 2017, he was confirmed in office with 90.35% of the valid votes in the first ballot.

coat of arms

The coat of arms was designed by the local heraldist Jörg Mantzsch and approved by the district on March 4, 2011.

Blazon : "In a blue shield sprinkled with eleven silver stars, a gold-roofed and crossed silver nave with black arched windows on a vaulted golden shield base, this topped with a red armored, three-toed, soaring black lion with a knocked out tongue."

Following on from the name of the new municipality, the coat of arms carries the ship of the collegiate church St. Petrus as symbols on a curved shield base (mountain), which is covered with the coat of arms of the Wettins, the soaring black lion. The 11 stars in the shield symbolize the united communities.

The colors of the municipality are: white-blue.

The flag is blue-white-blue (1: 4: 1) striped (horizontal shape: stripes running horizontally, lengthways shape: stripes running vertically) and centered with the municipal coat of arms.
