The 1943 season of the Primera División was the 40th season (the 12th of the professional era) of the Uruguayan top division in men's football , the Primera División .

The Primera División consisted of ten clubs in the championship season of 1943, whose teams met twice in a total of 90 championship games. There were 18 game days. The championship was won by Nacional Montevideo as first in the table in front of Club Atlético Peñarol and Club Sportivo Miramar as second and third in the season's final table . As bottom of the table, the Rampla Juniors were relegated from the Primera División. Top scorer was Atilio García with 18 goals .
